The land, water and air that sustain life on the planet are under serious threat. Indigenous communities are on the front lines of the struggles against corporate resource extraction, pipelines, fracking and mining. And they are resisting. For city dwellers, the struggle takes a different shape. There’s a need for action in solidarity with those on the front lines, and an obligation to engage in strategies that diminish negative impacts of modern urban life on the land, water and air. How can urbanites take up strategies of resistance to environmental destruction? What are some alternative modes of living that seek justice and harmony with the life-world around us? At this community forum, we’ll explore these important themes of justice together.
